Video walls are sometimes referred to media walls or data walls. The difference is basically the content of the information being displayed on the wall. So what is a video wall and what formats are available. A video wall is a large electronic display of an image of images. Typically multiple display devices are tiled together as close as possible to form a matrix that gives a single screen look. The video wall uses a video processor to either scale the image across all the screens or provide separate images to each screen in the video wall.
The individual screens in the video wall can be as small as 4 inches diagonally or as large as 120 inches diagonally. A front or rear projection system can be used to display the images depending on the size of the video wall and the space available. Light emitting diodes (LED) are used in the wall for displaying the images in the screens. LEDs can be as small as 0.5 mm to present fine quality images that can provide images in high definition to bring a sharp contrast to the images being displayed.
